From the capital of Peru located between the mountains and the gorgeous Pacific Ocean, to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas, this journey promises to be unforgettable. In addition to the classical sites of Peru, such as Machu Picchu, Cusco and the Lake Titicaca, this tour will allow you to explore other sites maybe less known but also wonderful of our country. You’ll discover the Canyon of Colca in Arequipa (one of the deepest in the world), you’ll be able to see the Condors in their own environment, and a nice village called Chivay. Day 1 : Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival at the Lima airport a representative of Machu Picchu Explorer will meet you to take you to the hotel and we’ll assist you to make the check-in process.

We’ll explain you all about the city; restaurants, museums, touristic spots, safety tips, etc.
In the afternoon, you’ll be able to explore the Capital on your own, we recommend you to visit the Miraflores district, Barranco and Larcomar, interesting places where you’ll be delighted by the magnificent coastline of the Capital.

Day 2: City Tour in Lima

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Colonial & modern capital; thanks to our official tour guide we’ll explore historical, religious, and more interesting contemporary sites. The tour starts at the Huaca Pucllana ruins (enormous adobe pyramid dating from the 4th century A.D.) in the Miraflores neighborhood.  Next, you’ll visit Lima’s historic center, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and founded by the Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro. Here you’ll appreciate the colonial Plaza (the central square), which is surrounded  by the Government Palace, the Cathedral (where Pizarro was buried), the Archbishop´s Palace, the Municipal Palace, and the Palace of Lima. You’ll then travel a few blocks to the San Francisco Monastery, famous for its catacombs where over 250,000 human bones are still on display.

Your tour of Lima will end with a visit to some of the modern areas of the city such as San Isidro, Miraflores, and the Larcomar Complex, perched on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific Ocean with views of islands off the coast. Many high-classed restaurants are available in these areas where you’ll be delighted by the Peruvian cuisine.

Day 3: Lima-Arequipa

Travel time: 1 hour in vehicle to get the airport in Lima, 1h25 of flight Lima/Arequipa, 20 minutes from the airport to the hotel. Arequipa is located at 2300 meters above sea level.

It’s time to leave Lima and take the airplain to the « white city » Arequipa. Considered as the second city of Peru, it’s absolutely worth it to visit. Located in the heart of desert  and surrounded by volcanoes, it’s a city where the sun lights 300 days a year. This lightness is reflected in the spirit of their population, warm and gentil.

Day 4: Arequipa

After breakfast, you’ll have the chance to explore the city on your own and you’ll see why it’s called «The white city ». That’s because most of theit constructions are made from  sillar, a material made from dried lava since close the city existe plusieurs volcanoes. In the afternoon a english tour guide will assist you to discover the city properly. We’ll begi by the main square, next we’ll visit the Compañia de Jesus and the neighborhood of Yanahuara and the convent of Santa Catalina which is a real must-see that will surprise you.

Day 5: Arequipa - Chivay

Travel time: 4h by Bus.
After breakfast we’ll be heading to Chivay, a village at the valley of Colca. You’ll be able to gaze nice landscapes during your travel time such as the Chachani Volcano, the natural reserve of Salinas y aguada Blanca where you’ll see vicunas!

The descent into the valley to Chivay also promises some great pictures. A swim in the hot springs of Chivay (optional in the program of this circuit in Peru) is also recommended.

Day 6: Chivay-Condor Cross-Puno

Travel time: 3h in private transport, 6h to Puno
Puno is located at 3800 m.
A wonderful day in Peru to explore the nature and beautiful landscapes. We’ll drive you this morning to the Condor cross to see in their natural environment the Condors fly! This kind of bird is one of the largest in the world and the fact to observe them in nature is exceptional. An authentic experience that we propose you to see. Next we’ll be driven to the Canyon of Colca, one of the dippest in the world! We’ll continue afterwards by bus heading to Puno admiring wild landscapes at the Peruvian pampa.

Day 7: Puno - Uros Island - Taquile Island - Puno

The Island of Taquile is located at 4000 m.
After breakfast we’ll be transferred to the port of Puno to begin our excursion of the Lake Titicaca. This lake is well-known since according to the legends, it’s here where the Inca empire has its origins. We’ll begin our day by visiting the artificial islands of Uros, these islands are made from reeds of totora. Next we’ll take the boat to get the Taquile Island, you’ll have the impression that time has stopped, people still living with their old traditions in the heart of the Lake. This will be an authentic experience in Peru, nature & simplicity together.


Day 8: Puno - Cusco

Travel time: 7h by tourist bus (out from visits)
Cusco is located at 3400 m.

Cusco is the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, it’s located at 3400 m. This time we’ll be taken to the heart of the Inca civilization, Cusco. We’ll have 7 hours of bus in which we’ll make different stops to appreciate different arqueological sites such as; the pre-inca site of Pukara, next Raqchi, the temple of the god Wiracocha & the chapel of Andahuaylillas. Arriving to Cusco at the end of the afternoon.

Day 9:  Cusco city tour

After a nice breakfast, you’ll have the chance to explore the city during this day.  Cusco is also known as «the navel of the world» because of its importance as the capital of the Inca empire.  Temples, stone streets, Colonial houses, colorful outfits, art galleries, museums and nice people will certainly delight you. During the morning we recommend you to visit the San Blas neighborhood and be impressed by the cusquenian artisans.
In the afternoon, our tour begins by visiting the faboulous  Cathedral of Cusco where you’ll find a great painting collection of the «cusquenian school», then we’ll visit the temple of Qoricancha (temple of the sun), the most important in the city. Finally we’ll visit the spectacular ruins of the Sacsayhuaman fortress/temple overlooking the city, as well as the ruins of Q'enko, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay nearby.
In the evening, spend at your leisure enjoying the local cuisine, music, and the lights of Cusco at night, the surrounding hills and the sky overhead littered with stars

Day 10: Cusco - Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes

Travel time: 3 hours by bus (out of visit time) + 1h40 by train
Our day will begin by visiting the wonderful landscape of the magical Sacred Valley, home to several royal estates of Incan emperors. First, you will visit the town of Pisac, famous for its indigenous market and for the beautiful Incan ruins that overlooks the city. In the market, you will have the opportunity to browse the beautiful handicrafts, local fruits, vegetables, and other natural products. While exploring the Pisac ruins above, you’ll be delighted by the magic of the the valley, its architecture will allow you to understand the harmony betwen the inca constructions and the nature.

After visiting Pisac, we will stop for lunch, we’ll enjoy a variety of Peruvian and international food near the town of Urubamba. Next, we’ll visit the spectacular fortress of Ollantaytambo. This magnificent place was part of the royal estate of the Incan emperor Pachacuteq. The small town of Ollantaytambo still keeps the houses that Inca used to live in, narrow streets and beautiful canals are part of this.

Late in the afternoon we’ll take the train to Aguas Calientes (one hour and a half of journey) where we’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 11: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Today will be a fantastic day because we’ll discover one of the 7 wonders of the World, Machu Picchu
Our team will help you to take the bus and begin our visit. A professional english speaking tour guide will explain you the history and mysteries of the also called “Lost City of the Incas”.  
After this tour, you’ll have the time to explore the site on your own and take final photos. Late in the afternoon you’ll take the train back to Ollantaytambo/Poroy station where our team will be waiting for you to take you to the hotel.

Day 12: Depart Cusco - Lima

Time of flight Cusco - Lima: 1h
After breakfast at your hotel, one of our representatives will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport.
