Lima is also Known as “The city of the Kings” because of Spanish decided it to become the capital of Peru and many of the governors lived in this city. Lima offers a real contrast between the modernity and the colonial style. The sea is a very important part of habitants as well as the gastronomy, one of the most famous in South America.

This tour will allow you to go from the pacific coast to the heart of the Andes, you’ll be impressed by the fabulous landscape.

Day 1: Arrival in Lima

Upon arrival at the Lima airport a representative of  Machu Picchu Explorer  will meet you to take you to the hotel and we’ll help you to make the check-in process.
We’ll explain you all about the city; restaurants, museums, touristic spots, safety tips, etc.
In the afternoon, you’ll be able to explore the Capital on your own, we recommend you to visit the Miraflores district, Barranco and Larcomar, interesting places where you’ll be delighted by the magnificent coastline of the Capital.

Day 2: City Tour in Lima

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Colonial & modern capital; thanks to our official tour guide we’ll explore historical, religious, and more interesting contemporary sites. The tour starts at the Huaca Pucllana ruins (enormous adobe pyramid dating from the 4th century A.D.) in the Miraflores neighborhood.  Next, you’ll visit Lima’s historic center, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and founded by the Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro. Here you’ll appreciate the colonial Plaza (the central square), which is surrounded  by the Government Palace, the Cathedral (where Pizarro is buried), the Archbishop´s Palace, the Municipal Palace, and the Palace of Lima. You’ll then travel a few blocks to the San Francisco Monastery, famous for its catacombs where over 250,000 human bones are still on display.
Your tour of Lima will end with a visit to some of the modern areas of the city such as San Isidro, Miraflores, and the Larcomar Complex, perched on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific Ocean with views of islands off the coast. Many high-classed restaurants are available in these areas where you’ll be delighted by the Peruvian cuisine. Free afternoon.

Day 3: Arrival in Cusco

After breakfast, our team will schedule a private transfer to take you from your hotel to the airport so you can take your flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, a representative of Machu picchu Explorer will meet you to take you to the hotel and we’ll help you to make the check-in process. You’ll have the chance to delight you with the famous Coca tea, a hot beverage which allows you to acclimatize to the altitude.
We’ll explain you all about the city; restaurants, museums, touristic spots, safety tips, etc.
We highly recommend you to rest for a few hours before exploring the city.
By the evening, you’ll be able to see a show of typical dance at the Centro Qosqo de arte Nativo, this information will also be given by our team.

Day 4: Cusco City tour

A very quiet morning begins today. You’ll have the chance to explore the city and its attractions. Cusco is also known as «the navel of the world» because of its importance as the capital of the Inca empire.  Temples, stone streets, colonial houses, colorful outfits, art galleries, museums and nice people will certainly delight you. During the morning we recommend you visit the San Blas District and be impressed by the cusquenian artisans.

In the afternoon, our tour begins by visiting the faboulous  Cathedral of Cusco where you’ll find a great painting collection of the «cusquenian school», then we’ll visit the temple of Qoricancha (temple of the sun), the most important in the city. Finally, we’ll visit the spectacular ruins of the Sacsayhuaman fortress/temple overlooking the city, as well as the ruins of Q'enko, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay nearby.
In the evening, spend at your leisure enjoying the local cuisine, music, and the lights of Cusco at night, the surrounding hills and the sky overhead littered with stars

Day 5: Cusco - Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes

Today will begin by visiting the wonderful landscape of the Sacred Valley, home to several royal estates of Incan emperors. First, you will visit the town of Pisac, famous for its indigenous market and for the beautiful Incan ruins that overlooks the city. In the market, you will have the opportunity to browse the beautiful handicrafts, local fruits, vegetables, and other natural products. While exploring the Pisac ruins above, you’ll be delighted by the magic of the the valley, its architecture will allow you to understand the harmony betwen the inca constructions and the nature.
After visiting Pisac, we will stop for lunch, we’ll enjoy a variety of Peruvian and international food near the town of Urubamba. Next, we’ll visit the spectacular fortress of Ollantaytambo. This magnificent place was part of the royal estate of the Incan emperor Pachacuteq. The small town of Ollantaytambo still keeps the houses that Inca used to live in, narrow streets and beautiful canals are part of this.

Late in the afternoon, we’ll take the train to Aguas Calientes (one hour and a half of journey) where we’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 6: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Today will be a fantastic day because we’ll discover one of the 7 wonders of the World, Machu Picchu
Our team will help you to take the bus and begin our visit. A professional english speaking tour guide will explain you the history and mysteries of the also called “Lost City of the Incas”.  
After this tour, you’ll have the time to explore the site on your own and take final photos. Late in the afternoon you’ll take the train back to Ollantaytambo/Poroy station where our team will be waiting for you to take you to the hotel.

Day 7: Depart Cusco - Lima

After breakfast at your hotel, one of our representatives will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport.
