How much does the Machu Picchu ticket cost? How can I book Machu Picchu tickets online? What is the price?.
Machu Picchu or the Llacta Machu Picchu, the iconic Inca citadel located in the mountains of Peru, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The majesty of its ruins and the breathtaking landscape surrounding it make it a unique experience. However, purchasing tickets to visit this site can be challenging. In this article, we will guide you through the online ticket purchasing process, offering updated information, useful tips, prices, and solutions to common issues that may arise.

Why Buy Your Machu Picchu Tickets Online?

Booking tickets to Machu Picchu online offers several advantages. First, it ensures ticket availability, as the number of daily visitors is limited to preserve the site. Second, it lets you plan your visit in advance, avoiding the frustration of finding everything sold out upon arrival.
Finally, online purchases give you access to all the routes and circuits not always available at physical sales points.

Where to buy Machu Picchu tickets?

You have the following options to buy Machu Picchu tickets:

  • You can buy it online via the official site tuboleto.cultura.pe.
  • You can buy in Cusco at the Ministry of Culture – Calle Garcilaso.
  • You can buy your ticket in Aguas Calientes, at the cultural center.

Machu Picchu Circuits 2025

There are several types of tickets for Machu Picchu, which can make the selection process confusing. Additionally, it’s important to mention that there are three different circuits, each with sub-circuits, totaling ten routes. Here we explain the best ticket options and the available circuits:

Machu Picchu Circuit 1 or Panoramic Circuit: This ticket allows you to get the classic photo, having a fantastic view of the Inca citadel. Ideal for those who want to have a panoramic picture. However, note that it doesn’t allow you to tour the lower part of Machu Picchu and walk through the constructions. This Circuit, in turn, has 4 sub-circuits including the following:

  • Circuit 1-A: This ticket, in addition to the above, allows you to hike Machu Picchu Mountain.
  • Circuit 1-B: It allows you access to the upper terrace and enjoy a panoramic view of the complex.
  • Circuit 1-C: It allows access to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), the original entrance to Machu Picchu.
  • Circuit 1-D: This ticket gives you access to the Inca Bridge, a short walk to the eastern edge of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu Circuit 2 or Classic route: If you’re wondering which route to book, our suggestion is clear and direct; book Circuit 2. This is the most complete and comprehensive ticket that allows you to have the classic photo as well as explore the urban sector (temples, canals, and other Inca constructions). Ideal for those who visit Machu Picchu for the first time, and want to see the most iconic points of Machu Picchu. 2 sub-circuits are offered:

  • Circuit 2-A: This sub-circuit allows you to have a panoramic view of the complex, and tour the urban and religious sector.
  • Circuit 2-B: Similar to the previous one, the tiny difference is that you’ll have the view from a lower terrace, having access to the urban and religious sectors too.

Machu Picchu Circuit 3 or Royalty route: This ticket allows you access to the royal temples located in the lower part of the citadel. You’ll see places like the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Rock as well as be able to do some hikes in Machu Picchu. This Circuit also offers 4 different sub-circuits.

  • Circuit 3-A: This ticket allows you to hike to the top of Huayna Picchu mountain.
  • Circuit 3-B: An intermediate route with access to many important points in the urban sector.
  • Circuit 3-C: The ticket gives you access to hike the great cave.
  • Circuit 3-D: This ticket allows you to hike the Huchuy Picchu Mountain, a short nice hike.
